STATE COMMITTEE MEMBER

What Is a State Committee Member & District Leader?
State Committee Members & District Leaders are elected positions within the Democratic Party that help connect everyday residents to the political process. These roles serve as a bridge between the community and the party, helping ensure that local voices are heard in party decisions, supporting Democratic candidates, and working to strengthen civic participation at the neighborhood level. While these positions operate within the party structure rather than government, they play an important role in shaping the direction of the party, organizing locally, and making sure the concerns of residents are represented.
Responsibilities
What will Dion do?
Connecting People to the Process
At its best, the Democratic Party should be a space where community voices shape decisions, not just observe them. As State Committee Member & District Leader, Dion's focus will be on opening the doors of the political process, strengthening the connection between residents and party leadership, and making sure the priorities of Assembly District 55 are represented. By encouraging participation, fostering real conversations, and keeping the community involved in the decisions that affect it, we can build a stronger, more responsive Democratic Party for Brooklyn.
